Madeline Grubb (she/her)

About Maddy

Starting therapy is a big step, and I want to make it a little easier. There’s no “right” way to do this—just your way. This is your story, and I’m here to walk alongside you as we explore the present, unpack the past, and make space for what’s next. I bring curiosity, creativity, and a sense of humor into the work. Therapy can be challenging, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel heavy all the time. We can hold the hard stuff and find moments of joy. I work especially well with clients who are talkative, imaginative, and open to exploring the deeper layers of themselves.

As a queer, spiritual woman living with chronic pain, I bring lived experience and perspective. I’m deeply committed to LGBTQIA+ affirming care and feel honored to support my community in all its forms. I believe healing happens through relationships — with ourselves, with others, and within community. Part of my work is helping clients (re)build the support structures that make this kind of healing possible.

Much of my work centers around processing trauma and grief. Grief doesn’t always look like the loss of a loved one—sometimes it’s the loss of a future, a relationship, a version of ourselves, or something that was never allowed to be. I hold space for all forms of grief, including anticipatory and complicated grief, and help clients honor the complex emotions that come with them. I do not put limits on what could be traumatic. I am more concerned with the impact that events have had on your life, and how you carry that pain with you.

For those navigating questions or crises around spirituality or religion, I offer space to explore without judgement or n agenda. Many people feel alienated from organized religion, yet still crave meaning, connection, community, or ritual. Spirituality does not belong to certain groups of people, you deserve to make it your own. Together, we can explore what spirituality means to you—including the deep sense of belonging that can come from astrology, nature, creativity, ancestry, or your own intuition. I have experience working with reiki healers and those with psychic gifts, and understand how isolating it can be to carry those feelings alone.

I offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space for clients who use substances. Substance use can be deeply embedded in one's sense of identity and community, and I believe therapy should be a place where all parts of your experience are welcome—without shame or pathologizing.

I may integrate Brainspotting, Sand Tray work, and other expressive modalities into our sessions—especially when words fall short. These tools can support insight, embodiment, and emotional release in unique ways. Let me ask, when was the last time you got to play? As people age into teenagers and adults, opportunities for imagination and expression dwindle and require intentionality. It is my belief that creativity can be a pathway into the resources you already have within you that can be harnessed to achieve wellness.

I’m a reader, a music lover, and a lover of really mid movies. I am always willing to integrate media into the work we do together. If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to connect.
