Feeling different from the norm can bring both empowerment and challenge. Defying expectations around who you are or what you believe can be liberating and it can also be tough and exhausting.
As a fat and queer white woman with an anti-oppressive trauma lens, I am committed to offering an affirming and compassionate therapy space where you can bring your whole self. We can talk honestly about what might be wrong, hard, out of balance, or unjust, because in this space there is nothing “wrong” with you or who you are.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years as an anti-racist facilitator and sex positive educator. I believe that with responsible practice, therapy can be a powerful tool for self exploration, growth, accountability, and celebration. I pull from multiple therapy approaches including TF-CBT, ACT, and feminist therapy to meet your unique needs within your unique context.
Through this work you can begin to develop secure self esteem, kind and helpful self talk and self care skills, more authentic connections, and a sense of purpose and sustainability in your healing journey. My goal is to support you in feeling more confident, more grounded, and more like yourself.
I work with individuals 18 and older who are navigating trauma, identify and value exploration, and mood and behavior struggles. My approach focuses on processing challenges related to oppression and privilege, shame, burnout and balance, and developing authentic relationships to yourself and others. I specialize in working with young adults, the LGBTQIA+ community, and fellow white folks on an anti-racism journey.
If any of this speaks to you, you can call or email me to sign up for a free 15-30 minute phone consultation. I currently have openings for in-person sessions at our Maplewood location and Telehealth sessions for Minnesota residents.
